Bluetooth wireless headphones on Nintendo Switch

Nintendo Switch is a popular console, the lack of support for Bluetooth headphones has irked many fans through the years. Nintendo Switch has been capable of Bluetooth connectivity to connect wireless controllers ever since it was first released. Though there is a 3.5mm headphone jack on the console, many people use wireless headphones in their day-to-day lives and the idea of buying a wired headset just for the Switch isn’t appealing. However, Nintendo recently added the long-requested feature as part of Switch’s system software update version 13.0.0. Now you can finally use your favorite pair of Bluetooth headphones on Nintendo’s hybrid console.

Unfortunately, there are few things to keep in mind when connecting a Bluetooth audio device to Nintendo Switch

  • Some users may experience audio latency and Bluetooth microphones cannot be used.
  • Only one Bluetooth device can be paired at a time but 10 devices can be saved on the system itself.

How to connect Bluetooth wireless headphones to Nintendo Switch

  4. Grab your desired headphones and turn on pairing mode.
  5. Place your headphones near your Nintendo Switch.
  6. Select your headphones once they appear on the Switch screen.
  7. Select OK.

Now you’re good to go, cable and dongle free. If you’re having issues pairing your headphones, they might not work with the Switch. An adapter might still allow them to function with the console, though. Continue reading to learn how to use them. While the console didn’t support any USB-connected wireless gaming headset at launch in 2017, that has now changed on the recently updated software.

Officially supported wireless gaming headsets

The issue? the company hasn’t revealed a full list of supported headsets, making it much more difficult to purchase a wireless headset to use with the Nintendo Switch.
