Stream Xbox Game Pass cloud gaming titles to PC have been possible for a fair while now, thanks to the browser version (found via the Xbox.com/play website). Just like its Predisesor Microsoft Windows 11 has a dedicated Xbox app. The Xbox app supports the full Xbox Game Pass library as well as Xbox cloud gaming. Xbox corporate vice-president Sarah Bond outlined Xbox’s presence on the upcoming operating system. The OS is scheduled to launch this holiday season, during Microsoft’s reveal stream.

If you have an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription you have access to the full library of Game Pass games. Some of the games include first-party hits like Forza Horizon 4 or Gears 5 streamable via app or browser to a whole host of phones, tablets, and other devices.

  • Open or Launch Your Xbox app on your PC. You can do this quickly by opening the Start menu and type “Xbox” on the search bar. This should immediately show a number of options in the search results. Make sure to open the Xbox app, not the Xbox Game Bar or Xbox Console Companion. Xbox Game Bar and Xbox Console Companion are different apps with other uses.

  • If you’ve successfully logged into the Xbox app, streaming games via xCloud is pretty simple. Get started by clicking the big Cloud Gaming button in the center of the app.

  • A scrollable list of available Xbox Game Pass games should be visible on the  Xbox Cloud Gaming page. It should also show indicators of how good your Internet connection is and whether you’ve connected a compatible gamepad.
  • Make sure you have your gamepad connected and ready then select a game!

NOTE:

We advise you to plug in the official Xbox gamepad and connect your PC up to a high-speed Internet connection via an Ethernet cable. For the best gaming experience, Microsoft requires you to have a decent, steady Internet connection and a compatible gamepad to play games via xCloud. Never the less you can also get some pretty acceptable gaming in on a good Wi-Fi connection.

You should be able to click on any of the games listed on this page once the Xbox app registers that you’ve connected it to a compatible controller and Internet connection. This should give a deeper breakdown of what the game is, and then click the big green “Play” button.
